Radar Images from Sunday Morning’s Storm

Looking at the valley as a whole, you can see the “hit and miss” nature of these thunderstorms. The areas that got hit, got hit hard! Highway 111 was closed for hours due to flash flooding. Multiple business were inundated with flood waters from mountain runoff in Cathedral City.

Moisture Surge

The valley saw a intense surge of moisture this morning from the south. This was expected and was forecasted to arrive later today.  Dew Points reached the mid 70’s by early morning.

Moisture Will Return Sunday & Monday

It was certainly drier today with dew point levels as much as 20° lower than the past few days. See the graph below for the past 2 weeks and you can see its been quite “sticky” up until today.
This dryness won’t last.  A surge of moisture will return starting Saturday night thru Tuesday with thunderstorms [...]
