Curious to know what you found out about the Regional Map. Desert Weather does not show up for me as most of the other stations in the upper desert unlless I keep messing with the altitude of the map.

Its not a problem with DW. It has something to do with WeatherBonk, that’s the site that provides the map. I thought I fixed it but I was wrong. I will have another look at it!

Thanks

Thanks John. I knew the problem was not DW. They need to get their act together to be worthy of DW Laughing

Ok, it seems WeatherBonk is changing the way websites use their data. So until they work out the changes I created a new map. This is now done "in-house".

Let me know what you think!

Although I personally like the look of the other map I think this one may be better. It does give a little more of the information that I look for. On my days off usually I’m not sure where I want to go hiking or otherwise. The temperature usually dictates this. This map shows more areas of temperatures but they are not clickable so that detail is lost.

My thanks for your effort.

yes, each temp should be clickable! Hover to show you the data and if you click it will take you to either the NWS or Wunderground for the details.

Yesterday the "Hover" feature was not working for me which is the reason I mentioned clickable. This morning it is fine. Now I’m a happy camper again.

Good job on the fix John.

Ok, it looks like WeatherBonk got its act together (hopefully). The Regional Map page should be work again. I have cleaned up the page a little too and added instruction on the map nav.

have fun,
John

I am glad Weather blonk got its act together. I like this map. I was playing with the controls you mentioned and clicking north I came across Manix which is NE of Yermo on Hwy 15 whos station said it was a balmy -38 degrees this morning. Wonder who is maning that station?

minus 38! You will come across this every now and then, data error. I just looked at the map and there is a station up near barstow that is reading 97 degrees and its only 10am, that has to be wrong. This must be a sensor that is in direct sun light.
