New Blog Design

Posted by John in Topic: Site Updates

We’ve migrated the blog to a new look (as you can see :) ). We did this so we could be more flexible with it, and it allows us to enable many more features like polling, better photo handling, among others. We think it is also important to differentiate the blog away from the main site.

We hope you enjoy the new look and please remember to use its features like the RSS feeds, commenting, and also please give us your opinion via the polls.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all who visit Desertweather.com. We are growing at a steady rate and expect to add a few additions to Desertweather sometime this year which include a weather cam & local lightning detector / map.

Congratulations on the new Blog John. I am looking forward to it and the changes you have in store for us. Especially the cams and detectors. DW is the first thing I open in the morning and when I get home from work to see what is in store for that day and the next. Thanks for giving us an better alternative to the inaccurate others.

Sometimes I get to complacent as to what is going on in Desert Weather. I have a habit of visiting the same pages everyday and ignoring the others. This morning I visited the Weather Maps for the first time in a long time. Another surprise! Great job John. I will be more vigilant to the changes from now on.

I was hoping to get some feedback about the Weather map change. I personally like the change but wondered if some people would like a static page better. I changed the Live page & Regional Map page as well!

The whole site is still a slow work in progress! :)
    Thanks Jim

Yes, the Regional Map is a winner also. Somtimes I get lost in it by moving it around and checking other areas. Good job there also. I also like these changes above the static pages.
