New Feature: NWS Weather Story

The past several weeks I have post a few “Weather Stories” from the National Weather Service. I wanted to have that graphical feature available to view everyday from DesertWeather.com, so with the help of Curly at Michiana Weather in Elkhart, Indiana, and his excellent script I was able to created a separate page for it.

Weather Story is a feature from the National Weather Service that is updated on a daily basis early in the morning that highlights the prominent, upcoming weather in a non-technical image.

Weather Story will be listed under the “Other” menu item. Link to page here.

    As of 6:30am Feb 2 this feature is “Currently not available”. When are you going on line with it John?

    Jim it has been “online” and working since the 30th. As mentioned I see today, the 2nd, it does display “Currently not available”. This is due to the National Weather Service and not DesertWeather.

    If the NWS has not issued a Weather Story for the day or they are having issues with their computer then the “Currently not available” will display. Check back later to tomorrow morning.

    UPDATE: As of 12:30 pm it is working, the NWS must have been late in releasing a version for today.

    I will keep trying John. As of this morning 4:30am “Currently not available” is still displayed. I will check back later.

    Jim, you might be a victim of circumstance! :) From what i notice the NWS publishes it around 8-9am and then it disappears sometime in the evening. So you typically visit early in the morning you’ll never see it. :)

    Hey I got to see it LOL. It is cool. I’ll keep my eye on it.
