On this day in…
1995: 1.08 inches of rain fell in Idyllwild, the greatest daily amount on record for June. Daily records were set across the region for the area rainfall during a rare off-season storm.
1917: The temperature of 124° at Mecca climaxed the most destructive heat wave of record in California history.
