As talked about in local media for almost a week now, we are looking at a decent chance of rain, much needed rain, Friday and into Saturday morning. We haven’t seen any trace of precipitation since April (227 days ago) here at DesertWeather (Thousand Palms), and anything over a trace since July…… 2006!!! That’s 16 months! Estimated rain amounts are around a quarter of an inch of rain before its all over.
Low pressure system off the coast of Mexico pulling up subtropical moisture. It will move north and then east starting Thursday.

227 days! If this does not change soon we may be tied with the Atacama Desert in South Americas Chile as the driest place on Planet Earth.
