Rain Totals are Up

Posted by John in Topic: General

Much of California is off to a very good start for its rain season totals, and the Coachella Valley has received it share of much needed rain also. After a very parched season last year, this season has started off quite well. Palm Springs stands at 3.02 inches since July 1st. That’s 177% of normal! If we look at Palm Springs’s seasonal average of 5.23 inches of rain, it has received 60% of that already and we still have January and February around the corner which tend to be the wettest months of the year.

All of this and other interesting facts are stated by Ken Clark at AccuWeather.com. He has an excellent article and it is a must read. Visit Ken Clark’s article “La Nina vs Reality/The Rainfall Tally“.

Both Ken Clark and Paul Yeager do an excellent job at analyzing the weather patterns of the west coast. All of their recent articles are always displayed in the feed on the DesertWeather National Weather News Feeds page at http://www.desertweather.com/weathernews.php
