Rain Totals So Far

Posted by John . Filed under General, Significant Events |

Coachella Valley is under a Flash Flood Warning this morning. Rain was steady all night but only on the light to moderate side so that helped limit the threat of major flooding.

There are reports of minor flooding on some valley roads. And an unconfirmed report of a minor mud slide on Highway 74 near Pinyon.

Ah found it! its east of DHS. here’s info and a link to a very informative history about flood control in Riverside County!

“1968 Wide Canyon Dam, east of Desert Hot Springs, was constructed to control flood flows from a large drainage area prone to producing flash floods. At the time of its construction in 1968, it was the largest of the nine flood control dams built by the District.”
