Looking at the valley as a whole, you can see the “hit and miss” nature of these thunderstorms. The areas that got hit, got hit hard! Highway 111 was closed for hours due to flash flooding. Multiple business were inundated with flood waters from mountain runoff in Cathedral City.

Coachella Valley is under a Flash Flood Warning this morning. Rain was steady all night but only on the light to moderate side so that helped limit the threat of major flooding.
There are reports of minor flooding on some valley roads. And an unconfirmed report of a minor mud slide on Highway 74 near Pinyon.
