Here’s one of the latest images of the fires burning in Southern California, and was captured at 11:25 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on October 23, 2007 by the MODIS on the Terra satellite. Fires are marked in red. (Click on image for large 500m resolution)

Humidity levels are still low but the winds are non-existent. Conditions are still forecasted to improve.

If you look at this graph for the past 6 days you can see the drop in humidity levels (blue line) starting Sunday morning, the 21st, as the Santa Ana Winds developed. Northwest winds & higher humidity levels are forecasted to improve for Southern California over the next several days bringing relief to the wildfire [...]
