Warmer Temperatures this Weekend

Posted by John in Topic: General

High pressure aloft with weak offshore flow will bring very warm temperatures to Southern California this weekend. Temperatures will peak Sunday with highs expected to top 100° in the Coachella Valley. the last time Palm Springs reached 100° was September 16th of last year.

Per the National Weather Service:

THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS EARLY SEASON HEAT WAVE. TWO WEEKENDS
AGO (APRIL 12TH AND 13TH) TEMPERATURES SOARING INTO THE 90S WEST OF
THE MOUNTAINS. FOUR HIKERS SUFFERED HEAT STROKE OR HEAT EXHAUSTION.
PEOPLE WITH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND SHOULD TAKE ALONG PLENTY
OF WATER AND STAY HYDRATED.

With the Coachella Fest this weekend in Coachella, many of the 180,000 music goers drive in from out of the area and are not accustom to the 100° plus temperatures and should be cautious of the dehydration potential.

The high will weaken Early next week and bring the temperatures back down to seasonable high 80’s to low 90’s.
