Posted by John in Topic: Extreme Facts

Death Valley is the driest place in the United States, receiving 2.33” annually (1971-2000 normals). In 1929, it did not rain at all.

Here in the Coachella Valley its been a very dry year! In addition it’s been severely dry all across the Southwest. Los Angeles is on track to have the driest year on record! Lakes are at record low levels.
Here at DesertWeather (Thousand Palms) we’ve only recorded 29 hundredths of an inch!!! With the rain season coming to an end on June 30th we are likely to end with a rain deficit of about 4.64 inches, 89% below normal!!!
